Remove stubborn, burnt-on grease from the hob with a “magic” object – it looks like new

If the baked-on dirt on your oven countertop can’t be removed with soapy water, oven cleaners, and the classic cleaning duo of white vinegar and baking soda, there’s a product that might help.

In a YouTube post, content creator Geo revealed how he successfully removes burnt-on grease from the stove.

He showed viewers the heavily burnt grease on the cooking surface and said: “You can see how stubborn these baked-on residues are.”

“If your stovetop looks anything like this, you’ve probably tried a number of ways to remove it.”

Even if all other methods didn’t work for you, he insisted: “I want you to try this one technique, it should make the stuff go away.”

“Are you ready for the magic bullet? It’s a razor blade… it will remove most of the dirt from your stove.”

The rather “extreme” tool must be handled carefully, otherwise the oven could be scratched.

“You want to make sure that the stovetop, aside from all the dirt, is in good condition,” he said.

He elaborated, adding: “You have to make sure it’s nice and smooth, that it’s not rusty or that it doesn’t have any paint already removed, because that razor blade would just scrape off paint.”

“You also have to be very careful because if you start with a razor blade at the wrong angle and are not careful, you can cause scratches and remove paint from your stove.”

The razor blade must be “new” to be “sharp”, preferably with a gripper; such razor blades can be purchased at your local hardware store.

“When you lay the razor down, lay it flat… keep it flat and go very slowly.”

Geo demonstrated how to scrape off burnt-on grease slowly and carefully and pointed out that it is best to place the blade head from the side rather than on the dirt.

“Just do a little at a time and you will be completely satisfied with the results. But be careful,” he stressed.

One nice commenter said: “I bought a new stove about five years ago and completely neglected to clean the top around the burners. I had a really big burn mark…

“I would like to thank this person for providing a real and effective method to completely clean it and get it to a near perfect condition.”

Another added: “This trick is amazing! It took me about an hour to remove all the grease and dirt that has been building up there for over a decade.”
