The girl, a diploma student in Kodad in Narsimhulapet mandal of the district, had allegedly consumed pesticides a few days ago after being harassed by a youth.

Mahabubabad: A 17-year-old girl, who was on her deathbed, insisted on tying a rakhi on her brothers and soon after she managed to do so, she breathed her last. A video of the heartbreaking scene of her tying a rakhi on her brothers in a hospital went viral on several social media platforms on Monday.

The girl, who was studying in Kodad in Narsimhulapet district, allegedly consumed pesticides a few days ago after being molested by a youth. She was admitted to a private hospital for treatment. On Saturday, her condition worsened and feeling that she would not survive the Raksha Bandhan festival on Monday, she asked her parents to get her rakhis. She then tied rakhis on two of her brothers and died within a few hours.

A video of the girl tying a rakhi on her brothers was shot by a relative and has now gone viral on social media.
