EnBW builds new fast-charging park in Lower Saxony

This new location will be powered by green electricity and will expand the company’s fast-charging network throughout Germany.

EnBW has put another fast-charging park with 14 fast-charging points into operation on the A1 motorway in Lower Saxony.

Like the company’s entire charging network in Germany, all points are powered by 100% green electricity. Depending on the vehicle, drivers can charge up to 400 kilometers in just 20 minutes with an output of up to 300 kilowatts.

“Large charging parks along intercity routes are a key success factor for the further expansion of the fast-charging infrastructure. They offer many high-performance charging points for quick interim charging on long journeys,” says Jürgen Stein, Chief Innovation & New Business Officer at EnBW and responsible for electromobility.

With over 5,000 fast-charging points nationwide, EnBW operates the largest fast-charging network in Germany. The company is expanding the fast-charging infrastructure where drivers can easily integrate charging into their everyday lives – not only on long-distance journeys, but also in cities and at retail locations.

By 2030, the company plans to operate around 30,000 fast-charging points, increasing its capacity sixfold compared to today. It is investing around 200 million euros annually in this.
