Video footage of the incident showed Jitesh riding his scooter and bidding farewell to Pranshu just before the outdoor air conditioner collapsed on him. After being rushed to a local hospital, Jitesh was declared dead on arrival. As he told the police, Pranshu could not physically record his statement and was admitted to the hospital in a serious condition with multiple injuries.

Under sections 125(a) and 106, the police have filed a formal complaint at Desh Bandhu Gupta police station for negligence causing death. Authorities are investigating whether negligence contributed to the falling of the air conditioner and a forensic team has been sent to ascertain the details of the incident.

Such incidents involving air conditioners have happened before, at least in the last summer season. Recently, a 37-year-old man in Gurugram suffered burns after the air conditioner in his bedroom caught fire and exploded.
