Three motorcyclists were killed in a collision with three vehicles on the A53 main road between Buxton and Leek at 9.45am yesterday.

Derbyshire Police said they were called to the incident on the A53 – the Buxton to Leek road – at around 9.45am on Sunday morning.

A police statement on the first accident said: “The collision involved three Ducati motorcycles, a van and a car.”

“Three motorcyclists, all men in their 50s, were pronounced dead at the scene. Their families have been informed and our thoughts are with them.”

“The driver of the van and two people from the car were also taken to hospital. Their injuries are not believed to be life-threatening. We would like to speak to anyone who witnessed the collision or has dashcam footage.”
