Kanpur: A Delivery truck driver Was arrested and put in prison for harassment a seven-year-old girl in the Nazirabad police station area.
According to the complaint, the incident occurred on August 13 when the girl was alone in the van, driving home from school. “The driver made her sit in the front seat. After that, he kissed and touched her inappropriately. When the girl returned home and family members saw that she was upset, they asked her and she told them about the incident,” the complaint states.
The girl’s mother filed a complaint against the accused driver at Nazirabad police station, which led to his arrest. The police also conducted a medical examination and recorded the statement of the child.
In her complaint, the woman stated that her seven-year-old daughter attends a reputable school. Her husband takes the daughter to school every day and they have hired a van driver to take her home after school.
When the driver brought the girl home on August 13, the grandmother noticed that she was sitting in the front seat and was late. Since that day, the girl’s behavior had changed significantly.
DCP Central Dinesh Tripathi confirmed that based on the complaint filed by the family members, an FIR was registered which led to the arrest of the accused. The van has been seized and the accused is being interrogated.
