What is part 2 about?

Spoilers below.

Emily in ParisWhile the midseason finale didn’t end on a cliffhanger, there are some storylines that need to be tied up. Surprisingly, most of the drama in the fourth season of the Netflix hit has nothing to do with Emily, who often finds herself in sticky situations.

Season four is all about Emily’s convictions. In their love triangle between Gabriel and Alfie, she follows her gut and chooses Gabriel. (Poor Alfie couldn’t even have a proper breakup conversation, but hey, we never said she was perfect!) Her coworkers also seem to hate her less, and Sylvie begins to admit that she might even How Emily, just a little bit.

But things aren’t going so well for the other characters. They’re experiencing varying levels of heartbreak and desire in their personal and professional lives. The second half of season four is still a month away, and here’s what we know about the season’s conclusion.

What will Emily in Paris What is Season 4, Part 2 about?

When we leave Emily at the end of episode five, everything is pretty great for our girl. She’s in a great mood at work (as always) and finally gets a taste of what it’s like to date Gabriel, the chef and neighbor she’s been courting for the previous three seasons. But while Emily and Gabriel are both committed to each other, there’s a third person who could disrupt their blissful union: Gabriel’s ex, Camille.

Season 3 ended with Camille and Gabriel’s failed wedding, despite her revealing that she was pregnant with his child. Her heart was set on Sofia, an artist living in Athens with whom she was collaborating, but after they tried to move in together, they realized it wasn’t happily ever after. In the midseason finale, Sofia packed her bags and Camille stared longingly at Gabriel and Emily’s new love, practically beaming with jealousy. At the end of the episode, Camille finds out that she is not pregnant – and never was – but she decides not to tell Gabriel right away so as not to destroy the illusion of a family with him.

Alfie is unlikely to appear again this season – four is a lot, after all – and Mindy is left to deal with the heartache of Nicholas trying to sweep his father’s behaviour under the rug. But Mindy still has to prepare for the Eurovision Song Contest and sell a whole wardrobe of outfits to pay for it. Sylvie’s world is also a little less orderly: there will likely be some fallout after she speaks out about allegations of sexual harassment by her former boss, and Luc seems hell-bent on getting a raise, although he’s going about it the wrong way.

Creator Darren Star also promised that Emily would be living a lot of jet-setting life in Season 4, something we didn’t see much of in the first few episodes. “Emily has a busy travel schedule,” Star said Tudum. “From the French Alps to the piazzas of Rome, viewers will experience new, amazing places through Emily’s eyes. Expect new characters, much more drama, romance and a whole new language to master.” Lily Collins added: “While Emily’s heart will always remain true to Paris, her life takes some unexpected turns this season. Don’t be surprised if you find her on a Roman vacation.”

Later, Starr had fun warning her fans that there was definitely no happy ending between her and Gabriel.

“I wanted to make it satisfying. I wanted to give them a moment where they could really find each other and feel the spark that’s always been between them and spend some really beautiful moments together, but at the same time, there are complications in this relationship that aren’t going to go away,” he said. Deadline in an interview published on August 17. “In the second part, once the infatuation and the rose-colored glasses fall off, you really start to realize who you are with and that there is a real person behind the fantasy. That happens to both of them in the second part.”

If nothing else, the second half of the season looks to be jam-packed, and we’re ready for an extended European adventure… and maybe an Italian lover for Emily’s collection?

Will season 4 be the last season of Emily in Paris?

Seasons 3 and 4 were renewed simultaneously, and the double renewal raised questions about whether the series was setting up its endgame. “I definitely think the show has a life beyond the next season. It’s not necessarily designed to be the final chapter. I think like any other show, it’s a rich ensemble. There’s no end in sight until everyone feels like it’s time to stop,” Star said Deadline after season 3 aired. “And I don’t think this show is limited by the number of seasons, but by everyone’s enthusiasm and excitement to make it and tell stories about these characters.”

There was some speculation that there would be another extension, as a guest role in Emily in Paris Season 5 was auctioned at the Amfar Gala at Cannes in May, but the program later clarified that the award depends on whether a fifth season gets the green light. In the meantime, we’re still waiting for Netflix to make an official announcement.
