Tom Daley and the British team divers are setting hearts racing with their version of the viral brat dance challenge at the Olympic Games

Tom DaleyJack Laugher, Noah Williams and other divers from Team Great Britain were spotted joining in on a viral dance trend at this year’s Olympics. The team have been busy competing in Paris and keeping fans updated on their antics on social media.

Tom, 30, shared a video on Sunday afternoon of himself and his fellow divers taking part in the “Apple Dance Challenge.” The viral dance trend is based on the melody of Charli XCX’s song “Apple,” which was released earlier this year. The challenge requires participants to perform a specific dance routine that matches some of the lyrics in the song’s chorus.

In the video Tom can be seen showing off his dance moves alongside his teammates Jack (29), Noah (24), Anthony Harding (24), Kyle Kothari (26) and Jordan Houlden (26). The group was filmed performing the routine in their Adidas swim trunks on a rooftop. In the caption to the video, Tom wrote: “BRAT Summer Olympics,” reports the Mirror.

This was a reference to Charli XCX’s album “Brat,” which features the song “Apple.” The video has already received over 200,000 likes on Instagram and another 4,000 likes on TikTok.

Since the video was posted, fans have been sharing their reactions in the comments. One quipped, “Give him another medal for that.” Another gushed, “Omg this trend has now reached its PEAK.” Another user commented, “Now that’s a summer for brats.” Another fan wrote, “The content I didn’t know I needed.”

Some are predicting the clip will go viral. One Instagram user speculated, “This is going to break the internet.” Another echoed the sentiment, “Oh this is going to go so viral.” Adidas’ official account praised it, “Ten out of ten.” And someone else praised the effort, writing, “You’re engaging with your audience. Thanks for your service guys.”

There is also an indication that Tom could have been the instigator behind the scenes. Accompanied by a laughing emoji, one fan suggested: “Tom definitely convinced them all to do it.” Curiously, another asked with the same emoji: “How did you get them to agree to that?”.

The British team’s divers have joined a host of stars who have taken part in the dance craze started by Kelley Heyer, with Charli XCX trying it out alongside friends such as Troye Sivan.

Celebrities like Eva Longoria, Dave Grohl, Kerry Washington and Cara Delevingne have all tried the dance since it became so popular online. Twisters actors Anthony Ramos, Daisy Edgar-Jones and Glen Powell even showed off their moves in a shared clip.
