Cochin: Ernakulam North Police arrested a Madrassa teacher for alleged sexual abuse of a underage girl.
The arrested The person was identified as Ansari of Kaloor.
The accused allegedly sexually abused a six-year-old girl in a madrassa on the police station premises. The incident reportedly took place on Saturday and a complaint was filed after the girl told her parents about it.
North police said that a chargesheet has been filed against the accused under the Pocso Act. He is in judicial custody, police said.

Ramone Alston, who is serving a life sentence for murder, escaped from a van on his way to a doctor’s appointment at UNC Gastroenterology Hospital in Hillsborough. Authorities caught him at a Kannapolis hotel and arrested him without incident. He faces a charge of escape. An acquaintance has been charged with aiding and abetting the escape.
