FURIA adds Knights Carnage Cup win to prepare for ALGS playoffs

FURIA are in full swing before the LAN.

FURIA took the title in the seventh edition of the Knights Carnage Cup. The first major multimap tournament since the release of Season 22 gave teams an important insight into the development of the meta ahead of the Split 2 playoffs later this month.

FURIA were closely followed by SSG and (Not)Moist, both of whom seem to be adapting well to the new meta this season. GoNext can also be pleased with their performance. It is worth noting that this event took place on North American servers, which put the EMEA team at a slight disadvantage.

FURIA wins Knights Carnage Cup

  • FURIA – 75 (4,000 USD)
  • Spacestation Gaming – 64 ($3,000)
  • NotMoist – 56 ($1,200)
  • Team Falcons – 51 ($1,000)
  • GoNext – 40 ($800)

This was not only a look at which teams have a good chance ahead of the ALGS Split 2 playoffs in Mannheim, but also a preview of how the meta might evolve when Apex hits the international stage in less than two weeks. The Knights Carnage Cup featured teams from EMEA and North America.

The biggest change from previous Apex competitions is undoubtedly the rise of Crypto. He has been at over 80% pick rate and is almost a must-have for many teams alongside Bangalore. Wattson, Pathfinder, Newcastle and Fuse are also notable picks.

Pick rates in detail:

  • Bengaluru: 93.33%
  • Crypto: 81.67%
  • Wattson: 41.67%
  • Scout: 39.17%
  • Newcastle: 15.83%
  • Security: 10.83%
  • Catalyst: 7.5%
  • Corrosive: 5%
  • Horizon: 5%

Season 22 seems to suit FURIA

FURIA will be happy with their performance and the meta change. They chose a composition of Pathfinder and Crypto Newcastle and were very successful in today’s Knights Carnage Cup. Newcastle can also adapt, but Vaxlon has a lot of experience with the legend from his time in 100 Thieves. Previously, this team was an important pioneer for Newcastle, which participated in the ALGS for the first time.

Pathfinder also seems to help bring out the best in Keon. A really aggressive fragger, he can move around the map and in combat at lightning speed, aided by ImMadness, which gives him tons of intel from Crypto.

The Knights Carnage Cup clearly does not reach the level of Apex that we will see in Mannheim. However, FURIA will take confidence from their performance. Is this build a LAN winner? Time will tell.
