Over time Demon Slayer Shonen anime introduced anime fans to a colorful and lovable cast of characters, starting with the Kamados, Tanjiro and Nezuko. Then fans met some notable members of the Demon Slayer Corps, including the nine elite Hashiras, starting with Giyu Tomioka. Towards the end of the first season Demon Slayer The audience met all of these Hashira, with Gyomei Himejima being the largest and most powerful of them.

For a while, Gyomei remained in the background of Demon Slayertherefore, despite his rank and power, he appeared in relatively few episodes. This special episode is the last of Gyomei’s six Demon Slayer episodes because a lot of the runtime was spent on Tanjiro’s recovery, which just wasn’t that interesting to watch. Thankfully, the first scene of the episode, which featured Gyomei, clarified whether or not Sanemi Shinazugawa could satiate Nezuko’s demonic hunger.

Gyomei, despite his monk aesthetic, saw no need to defend the innocent Nezuko or Tanjiro, simply because he did not yet have faith in them. He may not have been hostile, but he was also practical and had secret reasons for not trusting people so easily. No doubt Gyomei was pleasantly surprised when Nezuko Sanemi disregarded Shinazugawa’s plan, and Gyomei had no further objections when Kagaya Ubuyashiki allowed the Kamados to stay with the Demon Slayer Corps. At first, Gyomei wanted to put Nezuko out of her obvious misery as a demon, but he was willing to give her a second chance, mainly by simply staying out of her and Tanjiro’s way, which was certainly good enough at that point.

“Master of the Mansion” put Nezuko in the spotlight while Gyomei watched

Master of the Mansion marked the debut of Gyomei Himejima, the Stone Hashira, and many of his fellow Hashira were also officially introduced for the first time. Gyomei was able to make a clear first impression as a tall man with empty eyes, monk’s prayers and constant tears on his face. He certainly has Demon Slayer His unusual appearance as a swordsman caught the attention of fans, but he was not yet ready to reveal his secrets or accept the Kamados.

Unfortunately, the Kamados were given a cold reception when they arrived at the Demon Slayers’ headquarters, and some Hashira wanted to see Nezuko dead. Sanemi and Obanai were the most hostile towards the Kamados, while Gyomei simply held back and expressed his wish that the troubled Nezuko would be put out of her misery. This likely evoked mixed feelings among viewers, who trusted that Gyomei had good intentions but did not agree that Nezuko should be killed. Gyomei wanted to see euthanasia, and to settle the matter once and for all, Sanemi cut her arm to seduce Nezuko and prove a point to her.

The fourth season of Demon Slayer took up most of Gyomei Himejima’s screen time, starting with the twice-long first episode. A lot happened in this fascinating episode, including a meeting of the seven surviving Hashira, who knew that they and all other Demon Slayers would have to significantly increase their performance if they wanted to defeat the Demon King Muzan Kibutsuji. They had two main tasks: awakening their Demon Slayer marks and putting all Corps members through a new training regimen.

Gyomei Himejima mostly just listened during this meeting, but also showed his compassionate side by wishing his dying master well. From this point on, the Stone Hashira was a much more sympathetic and supportive figure than when he wanted to kill Nezuko just because he was a demon. Elsewhere in this episode, there were other fun developments, such as Lady Tamayo being invited to assist the Corps despite being a demon herself.

“The strongest of the Demon Slayer Corps” challenged Tanjiro

This episode is one of Gyomei Himejima’s best. Demon Slayer episodes because it was the first episode where he was the star, although he still held back a bit. By this time, Tanjiro and his trio of friends had completed the other Hashira training phases, so They were prepared for the final stage of Gyomei, only to face an unexpected challenge. Instead of fighting with Gyomei and learning new sword techniques, hunters were expected to use pure endurance and strength to move objects and survive a falling waterfall.

The real challenge was to move a round boulder cho away, and normal strength wouldn’t be enough. Instead, Tanjiro and his friends had to use Repetitive Action, a fighting style associated with Gyomei himself, opening up a whole new path to power that Tanjiro hadn’t previously considered. Genya Shinazugawa was also on hand to help, as he had already learned this technique from Gyomei, and that cemented their friendship. Along the way, Tanjiro also learned to tap into his core memories despite the emotional pain, using those thoughts to power his Repetitive Action and move that boulder just like Gyomei wanted.

“Stone Hashira Gyomei Himejima” revealed its cruel truth

Many of the Hashira had flashbacks showing where they came from and what inspired them to join the Demon Slayer Corps, and later in the anime, Gyomei also got the chance to tell his backstory. Years ago, he was a kind young man who ran his own small orphanage, and he and the children trusted each other completely. Tragically, one of the boys betrayed the entire orphanage to save his own life when a demon cornered him, and most of the children were killed. Gyomei slew the demon at dawn, but a traumatized girl told everyone that Gyomei was the only killer, leading to Gyomei’s imprisonment.

Gyomei was released, but not without first suffering some emotional scars and developing a deep distrust of others. Despite his generosity and monastic nature, Gyomei became a cynic who expected everyone to break their word and act only in their own interests.However, Tanjiro Kamado had proven that he would keep his word no matter what, so Gyomei recognized him as a true warrior worthy of trust, which, coming from the Stone Hashira, meant a lot.

“The Hashira Unite” finally presented Gyomei’s Stone Breath

Gyomei Himejima’s best episode was also his last, the finale of the fourth season. This is also one of the Demon Slayeroverall one of the best episodes, a double-length episode with cool action and dialogue. First, Gyomei and the other Hashira were absent as Kagaya Ubuyashiki spoke with his sworn enemy, the Demon King Muzan Kibutsuji, and it was a tense affair. Muzan threatened and taunted Kagaya and his family while Kagaya defied him with an indomitable human spirit. Then the Ubuyashikis attacked, setting off countless explosives to fatally wound Muzan.

That was clearly the signal for the Hashira to gather and attack Muzan with all their might, and it wasn’t just them. In fact, it was Lady Tamayo who struck first, using force for the first time on screen to hurt the hated Muzan Kibutsuji even more, but she couldn’t finish the job alone. After that, Gyomei Himejima finally showed his Stone Breath style in action, using a spiked ball on a long chain to attack Muzan with a series of moves. It was exciting to see Gyomei finally really fight as Hashira No. 1, although like Tamayo, he didn’t get a chance to finish the job. Muzan had his own trick, having Nakime use her powers to create some doors and drop the Hashira into Muzan’s Infinity Castle. Well, It is up to Gyomei and his Hashira colleagues to fight in the coming Demon Slayer Film trilogy and finally end the centuries-long war against the demons.
