Wong, 23, was selected by the Pacers with the No. 55 overall pick in last year’s draft after being named an All-American in Miami. The 6-foot-4 guard agreed to a two-way deal with Indiana and ultimately played in just one game with the Pacers, scoring two points in just four minutes.

The Invitational is scheduled to begin on September 4th and 6th.

Here’s more from the NBA world:

  • With the schedule officially set for this year’s Emirates NBA Cup, formerly the season-long tournament, The Athletic’s Zach Harper and Shams Charania provide an early preview of this year’s six groups and predict which eight clubs will advance to the quarterfinals. In perhaps the biggest surprise prediction, Harper and Charania believe the Pelicans will survive West Group C and advance. Group C is made up of a whole host of teams, including the Nuggets, who will be champions in 2023, the Mavericks, who will be West champions in 2024, the re-formed Warriors and the rebounding Grizzlies.
  • Suppose 39 years old LeBron James36 years old Stephen Curryand maybe 35 years old Kevin Durant won’t join Team USA at the 2028 Olympics in Los Angeles, Duane Rankin of The Arizona Republic speculates on what the roster will look like — and what its chances will be against a rapidly improving field. Rankin expects at least five players from 2024 to be replaced: James, Durant, Curry and All-Defensive Second Team Celtics guards Derrick White And Jrue Holiday.
  • In case you missed it, several former and current NBA superstars will participate in a tribute game for the former All-NBA point guard. Goran Dragic, who announced his resignation last December.
