REVIEW

Kiss of the Catwoman features a Selina Kyle/Catwoman who is a mix of the various incarnations of the classic Batman character seen throughout her nearly 85-year history. Essentially, despite being born into wealth, Selina is a thief at heart. When her money goes missing because her father goes to prison – and inspired by The Batman – Selinz takes on the guise of Catwoman to steal her way back to wealth. This endeavor naturally puts her on a collision course with The Caped Crusader for some classic Bat/Cat catch-me-if-you-can.

“They will pay for this… all of them.”

As a subplot, we learn a little about Batman’s origin story in the form of flashbacks that shed light on why Bruce Wayne is the way he is. There is a brief scene between young Bruce and Alfred that is both sad and shocking. The image above provides a small preview.

We also meet Dr. Harleen Quinzel, Bruce Wayne’s court-appointed psychiatrist. Of course, Bruce doesn’t go to the doctor voluntarily; it’s part of his deal with the judge and the Gotham District Attorney after he was accused of aggravated assault.

All in all, “Kiss of the Catwoman” is an excellent episode that is fun and serious at the same time. – Bill “Jett” Ramey
