The airline also assured that the stewardess was receiving psychological support and stressed that they were fully at her side during this difficult time.

“We are providing all possible support, including professional advice, to our colleague and his extended team. We are deeply shocked by an unlawful break-in at a hotel belonging to a major international chain, which affected one of our crew members. Air India is also working with the local police to pursue the matter to the fullest extent of the law and with the hotel management to ensure that such incidents do not recur. We request that the privacy of those affected be respected,” an Air India spokesperson said.

The airline further stated that it takes the incident, which occurred earlier this week, very seriously and will seek justice for the flight attendant.

The airline also stressed the importance of respecting their safety, privacy and well-being during this time.

“Air India attaches utmost importance to the safety and well-being of our crew and employees. We are deeply saddened by the unlawful break-in at a hotel belonging to a major international chain, which affected one of our crew members,” the statement said.

Due to the severity of her injuries, she was later admitted to a hospital in London.

According to sources, the attack on the Air India stewardess occurred after midnight when the entire crew was asleep.

The intruder, whose identity remains unknown, is said to have entered one of the stewardess’ rooms, attacked her with a coat hanger and dragged her across the floor as she ran toward the door.

Her screams alerted the hotel staff and their timely intervention brought the situation under control.

Officials said the incident was under investigation and the stewardess had since been brought back to India.
