BBC Strictly Come Dancing’s Kai Widdrington is delighted to announce his move following his co-stars’ split

Strictly Come Dancing star Kai Widdrington has unveiled his own solo dance after reports of a “breakup” with co-star Nadiya Bychkova emerged. The dancer is currently preparing for his return to ballroom dancing after being announced in June as one of the professional dancers returning for the 2024 series.

Last year, Kai partnered with radio legend Angela Rippon and the pair made it to the legendary Blackpool Week. The pair later embarked on the Strictly Come Dancing Live 2024 tour, which took place in arenas across the country earlier this year.

But it’s been a few weeks since the Strictly dancers began work on the upcoming series. Last month they joined creative director Jason Gilkinson in rehearsals to prepare the series of professional numbers that will be heard throughout the series and are due to be pre-recorded later this month.

But amidst the hard work ahead of Strictly’s return next month (September), Kai wanted to share some news with his fans and confirmed his new show on Instagram.

The 28-year-old announced that she will embark on a solo tour next year called EVOLUTION, which will stop in Swansea, Doncaster, Leicester, Dublin, Belfast and Dublin in May and June 2025.

Alongside a post about the show, Kai wrote on Instagram: “Are you guys ready? I’m so excited to announce that I’m back next year for my own solo headlining tour. It’s going to be bigger and better than ever! EVOLUTION…

“I’m looking forward to seeing old friends and new faces and having even more fun, laughter and dancing. I’m also excited to be able to say: Ireland, I’m coming back to see you!! See you in 2025.”

Strictly co-star Gorka Marquez was quick to respond, writing: “Okay Mr Bond.” Dianne Buswell replied: “Go on, congratulations,” while Nikita Kuzmin cheered: “Yeeeeeesss.” Johannes Radebe commented: “Great Chomi, here we go!! Get the attitude. Congratulations bro.” Vito Coppola added: “Congratulations Kaaaaaaaiiii.”

And his fans and followers were also excited about the news. @weestaceystrain said: “Great news Kai. I’m glad you’re coming to Belfast. You must get tickets.” @paul_stc commented: “BOOM. This tour is going to be EPIC!” @mawer7070 wrote: “Fabulous news! Can’t wait to see you on tour again!”

@elainewalsh98 replied: “Fantastic news. Just have to decide which one is closest to me. But I will be there.
