Teenager charged with assault on girl, police find weapon: Stamford PD

STAMFORD, CT — Stamford police announced the arrest of a 16-year-old boy accused of pointing a gun to a girl’s head and hitting her during an altercation earlier this month.

The SPD’s Major Crimes and Drug Division, with assistance from the Southwest Regional Emergency Response Team, executed a “high risk” warrant for a residence on Fairfield Avenue in west Stamford on August 14, police said in a news release.

During the raid, a 16-year-old boy was arrested and a weapon that police say was used in the robbery was confiscated. The boy’s name cannot be released due to his age.

According to police, the boy got into an argument with a girl under 18, pointed a gun at her head and hit her, injuring her. Police did not disclose the girl’s age.

The boy was charged with first-degree threatening, third-degree assault, illegal possession of a weapon and illegal carrying of a pistol in connection with the assault and was transferred to the Bridgeport Juvenile Detention Center, police said.

Based on a search warrant executed on the day of the arrest, the boy was additionally charged with possession of a large firearm magazine, failure to register a firearm, negligent storage of a firearm, illegal transfer of a firearm and possession of narcotics, police said.

“The department commends the investigative team for moving quickly in this case to prevent further harm,” police said.
