Seven of the top 10 valued companies add Rs 140 crore to market valuation; TCS and Infosys lead the gainers

New Delhi: The combined market valuation of seven of the top 10 highest-valued companies rose by Rs 1,408,636,600 crore in the holiday-shortened week last week, with the benchmark Sensex index gaining nearly 1 percent.

Tata Consultancy Services and Infosys emerged as the top gainers, in line with an optimistic trend on Dalal Street.

Last week, the BSE benchmark rose 730.93 points, or 0.91 percent, after a strong rally on Friday.

Tata Consultancy Services (TCS) market capitalization (Mcap) increased by Rs 67,477.33 crore to Rs 15,979,464.44 crore.

Infosys’ valuation increased by Rs 36,746.21 crore to Rs 7,720,2349 crore.

Bharti Airtel’s Mcap rose by Rs 11,727.55 crore to Rs 8,451,238.7 crore and ICICI Bank’s Mcap rose by Rs 10,913.96 crore to Rs 8,361,151.9 crore.

ITC’s valuation increased by Rs 8,569.73 crore to Rs 6,283,999.10 crore and that of Reliance Industries increased by Rs 5,311.4 crore to Rs 2,000,076.41 crore.

Hindustan Unilever added Rs 117.48 crore, taking its valuation to Rs 645,926.13 crore.

However, the capitalisation of Life Insurance Corporation of India (LICI) fell by Rs 47,943.48 crore to Rs 6,690,582.6 crore.

HDFC Bank’s valuation fell by Rs 13,064 crore to Rs 12,434,415,300,000 crore and State Bank of India’s valuation fell by Rs 10,486.42 crore to Rs 7,250,801,000,000 crore.

Reliance Industries retained the title of the highest valued company, followed by TCS, HDFC Bank, Bharti Airtel, ICICI Bank, Infosys, State Bank of India, LIC, Hindustan Unilever and ITC.
