Pilbara rollover: Man charged over crash that killed young girl in De Grey

A man is facing trial over the death of a three-year-old girl who died in a car accident.

Emergency services were called after reports that a maroon Holden Captiva left the road and overturned on an access road near the Great Northern Highway at De Grey in the Pilbara region of Western Australia at around 10.50pm last Wednesday evening.

Paramedics treated a three-year-old girl who was a passenger in the car for serious injuries; however, the girl died at the scene of the accident.

Three women and two men were also treated for minor injuries after the accident.

Western Australian police have now charged a 24-year-old man from South Hedland with manslaughter, dangerous driving occasioning grievous bodily harm and dangerous driving occasioning bodily harm.

He is scheduled to appear before Stirling Gardens Local Court on September 18.
