Tour for the band’s farewell concert, The Last Waltz, begins in October


The bandThe farewell concert from 1976, “The Last Waltz,” is being celebrated again with an all-star tour.

Life is a Carnival: Last Waltz Tour ’24 will begin on October 19 in San Francisco, with a lineup that includes Tom Petty and the Heartbreakers‘ Band members Michael Campbell And Benmont Tench, Don Was, Ryan Bingham, Jamie Johnson And Johannes Medeskiwith Luke Nelson Joining the tour for three shows in Colorado.

The tour will visit several historic venues across the country, including Denver, Cincinnati, New York, Boston and Philadelphia, before ending in Toronto on November 16.

Advance ticket sales start on Friday at 10 a.m. A complete list of dates can be found at thelastwaltztour.com.

The tour begins just two days after an all-star concert celebrating the Robbie Robertson. Life is a carnival: A musical tribute to Robbie Robertson takes place on October 17th at the Kia Forum in Los Angeles.

The “Last Waltz” celebration shows have been around since 2016. The first concerts took place in New Orleans to celebrate the 40th anniversary of the “Last Waltz” concert, which took place on November 25, 1976 at the Winterland Ballroom in San Francisco and was announced as the band’s farewell concert.
