Melissa Etheridge gets a new family member.

Bailey Jean Cypheridge, the 63-year-old singer’s daughter, announced her engagement on Thursday, June 20.

“Fiancé!!!!!!” she captioned a joint Instagram post with her partner Jocelyn Simone. The first photo in the carousel showed the couple kissing while having dinner together.

In the rest of the photo series, the newly engaged couple laughed and hugged, and in one photo rings could be seen on their left hands.

“Congratulations 🎉🍾🎊🎈,” Rosie O’Donnell wrote in the comments section.

In her Instagram stories, Cypheridge posted the engagement announcement along with a sweet message. “I’m the luckiest girl in the world. Forever yours,” she wrote, adding a white heart emoji.

In an April 2023 Instagram post, Cypheridge recounted how she came out to her parents during an appearance on the MTV and Paramount+ series. Family heritageIt also revealed how tolerant they were.

“Some people even ask me if I’m gay because my parents are gay, which I find a really funny question,” she said, laughing, in a confessional scene.

“I came out when I was 14. I was really young.”

Cypheridge said she asked her family at the time if her friend could come over for dinner.

“Pretty much no one else has a story like that, for me it was really easy,” she said.

The following month, Cypheridge spoke exclusively to PEOPLE about what it was like growing up with a famous mother.

“I was always touring with her from such a young age. I was used to her performing and that it was her job and part of her life,” she said in the May 2023 interview.

“I’ve seen her play by herself. I’ve seen her play with a full band. I’ve seen her play with an orchestra, it was so cool,” she said, noting that one of her mother’s most memorable performances was in Amsterdam when Cypheridge was just 13.

“I still remember the crazy energy of that show,” she added.

However, when the “Come to My Window” singer is not on the road, she remains pretty down to earth.

“When she’s not working, she really likes to stay home. She loves the Chiefs, she’s a huge football fan. That’s her idea of ​​a perfect Sunday: watching football with my stepmom and eating a huge bowl of guacamole. And honestly, we play a lot of music at home too. Just for fun, you know, just with our family, even when she’s not working,” Cypheridge said.
