Charles Dance feels “very, very happy” after finding love with his Italian girlfriend Alessandra Masi.

The 76-year-old “Game of Thrones” star met 54-year-old Alessandra on the set of his film “The Book of Vision,” where she worked as a production manager and the film was shot on location in Italy and Belgium.

When asked about his fondest memory of working on the film, Charles told The Times newspaper: “To be honest, it’s meeting Alessandra.”

He further revealed that she now lives with him most of the time and added: “Which I am really happy about.”

When asked if his romance with Alessandra overshadowed his work on the film, Charles replied: “Well, a little bit. Alessandra is fantastic. I’m very, very lucky.”

The couple are said to have been together for around three years. Charles was married to Joanna Haythorn from 1970 to 2004 and previously dated actresses Emilia Fox and Sophia Myles.

The Book of Vision was filmed five years ago, but its release was delayed due to the COVID-19 pandemic. Charles recalled the filming: “It was damn cold, if I remember correctly,” before adding: “In Italy, the film will look good because of its aesthetic sensibility, even if it’s shit.”

In a previous interview with the Sydney Morning Herald, Charles was asked what type of women he is attracted to and he revealed that he is attracted to beautiful, independent partners.

He replied: “Beautiful! Of course I mean that ironically. I like independence, I like strong women, women who survive and succeed in a world that is still dominated by men in most professions. I think that description fits my (ex-girlfriends).”
