Mazatlán’s Cinderella ended in Philadelphia as the 10-man Union advanced on penalties, securing a place in the semifinals for the second year in a row and sending club legend José Martínez off in style.

Seattle’s winning streak came to an abrupt end when LAFC came to town and won 3-0. Hugo Lloris showed his skills and got on the scoresheet for the second time this summer, providing an assist for Denis Bouanga’s goal.

The round ended on a high note, as Colorado eliminated Club América in a long penalty shootout to secure its place in the semifinals. Colorado has now eliminated four Mexican teams.

And he is said to be replaced by Olivier Giroud …

He is making history, and it doesn’t look like it’s going to stop anytime soon!

MLS champion Columbus will be looking to take another step towards adding to its trophy collection in the semifinals against Philadelphia.

Meanwhile, in the West, hopes of a possible Mexican representation rested on the shoulders of América, but their loss in the shootout means LAFC will now have to face Colorado.

The semifinals are just around the corner, both games will take place on August 21st.
