WSOC: HCU loses to Sacramento State

SACRAMENTO, California – Sophomore Jessica Marker scored her first career goal late in the first half to cut the HCU women’s soccer deficit to one goal, but the Huskies fell to Sacramento State 3-1 on Saturday afternoon at Hornet Field.


HCU (0-2) and Sacramento State (1-1) both had some shots on goal early on, while the Huskies Emily Jaime The closest was one in the 13th.th Minute and shot just wide of the top right corner. Sanderson was busy in the second half, making five saves. The Hornets’ final goal of the game came from Teysha-Rey Spinney-Kuahuia, with an assist from Farber, at 72:13. The Huskies kept up with the hosts in shot attempts, but were only able to get one shot on goal in the second half.


Sacramento State finished the day with a 20-15 advantage in shot attempts, with nine shots on goal while the Huskies only had two.


HCU returns to the Lone Star State after its season-opening trip to California and will face Sam Houston on Friday, August 23rd at 7:30 p.m. in Huntsville, Texas.
