An intruder in a London hotel attacked an Air India crew member and dragged him across the floor; the airline reacts

An Air India stewardess was allegedly attacked by an intruder in her hotel at London’s Heathrow Airport on Thursday.

“The crew member was sleeping when an intruder attacked her in her room at around 1:30 a.m. She was frightened, woke up and screamed for help. He attacked her with a coat hanger and dragged her across the floor while she tried to escape to the door,” The Times of India cited sources.

The attacker was reportedly caught and handed over to the police.

The incident occurred at the Radisson Hotel, where several Air India crew members were staying.

The airline, meanwhile, responded that the safety and well-being of its crew and employees was its top priority.

“We are deeply shocked by the incident of illegal intrusion into a hotel belonging to a major international chain, which affected one of our crew members.”

“We are offering our colleague and his extended team all possible support, including professional advice,” the statement said.

Air India is also working with the local police to pursue the case to the fullest extent possible under the law and with the hotel management to ensure that such incidents do not recur, the spokesman added, urging that the privacy of those involved be respected.
