The final words of popular comedian Matthew Perry have been revealed. In court, documents obtained by NBC News revealed that Perry asked his assistant, Kenneth Iwamasa, to help him take ketamine, which prosecutors claim the former “Friends” star was addicted to.

Perry reportedly told Iwamasa to give him “a big dose,” referring to the drug three times.

The actor died in October 2023 at the age of 54 in his Pacific Palisades home. He was found unconscious in his hot tub outside his property. It was later revealed that the actor died from “the acute effects of ketamine.”

On Thursday (August 15), five people were charged in connection with Perry’s death, including his assistant Iwamasa and Dr. Salvador Plasencia, who is accused of supplying Iwamasa with the drug administered to Perry. The other three people whose names were indicted are Jasveen Sangha (also known as “the Ketamine Queen”), Mark Chavez and Erik Fleming.

According to NBC, the Los Angeles County Medical Examiner’s Office said the amount of ketamine found in Perry’s body was equivalent to the amount used for anesthesia during surgery. Prosecutors allege Perry had an “out-of-control” ketamine addiction and injected the drug six to eight times a day.

On the day of Perry’s death, Iwamasa was accused of injecting him at 8:30 a.m., 12:45 p.m. and again “approximately 40 minutes later” while preparing the hot tub for the actor. Iwamasa then left the property to run errands and when he returned to Perry’s house, he found him facedown in the pool.

In the last five days of his life, Iwamasa administered 27 injections to Perry. The personal assistant has no medical license or training and allegedly followed instructions from Plascenia.

Iwamasa pleaded guilty to conspiracy to distribute ketamine resulting in death.
