Grace Food Festival combines food, music and dance | Entertainment
The inaugural Grace Food Festival, held at Hope Gardens in Kingston on Saturday, featured a mix of food, fun and entertainment. The event was a vibrant celebration of Jamaican culture with high-energy performances from some of Jamaica’s finest entertainers.
Whether guests were “swinging” their shoulders or swaying to the soothing sounds of reggae, the festival embodied the essence of Jamaican culture at its finest. Popular dancehall artist Ding Dong headlined and brought his signature energy and dance moves, turning the venue into a party to remember. His performance had everyone on their feet miming to popular dance anthems. A standout moment was when he invited children from the audience on stage for a lively dance competition, rewarding their enthusiasm with prizes and cheers from the crowd.
Alaine and Sevana captivated the audience with smooth vocals and a feel-good atmosphere, mixing classics with new sounds. Dburnz added a dynamic touch with his fiery reggae and dancehall performance, delighting the crowd with his lively set.
Rhoda Isabella delivered a powerful gospel set that had the crowd singing praises. Her stirring music created a moment of joy that touched all in attendance.
For dance lovers, Dance Xpressionz hosted an exciting dancehall history lesson that was both educational and electrifying, taking the audience on a nostalgic journey with iconic dancehall moves of the 90s.
In addition to the live performances, the festival was a feast for the senses. Visitors explored a bustling shopping village with local artisans and enjoyed a wide variety of culinary delights. Families appreciated the Back-to-School Village, which offered a variety of materials and resources to help parents and students prepare for the upcoming school year.
The festival was suitable for all ages, with the Kiddies Zone being a highlight for children. Activities such as bouncy castles, climbing and a carousel ensured that the little ones were entertained all day long.
