- A photo in JPEG or PDF format is preferable, TIF and other files are accepted. If there are any problems with the photo, we will contact you.
- Ad runtime
- There is a discount for runs lasting several days, but this must be scheduled for the first run date in order to be eligible.

Confirmation of death:
To publish obituaries, the name and phone number of the funeral home/cremation organization are required. We must contact the funeral home/cremation organization making the arrangements during business hours to confirm the death. If the deceased’s body was donated to the University of Minnesota Anatomy Bequest Program or a similar program, their phone number is required for confirmation.
Please allow sufficient time to contact us, especially during the limited opening hours on weekends.
A death certificate is also accepted for this purpose, but only one of these two options is required.
Guestbook and external websites:
We may not link to other media sources containing a guest book or an obituary published elsewhere when publishing an obituary in print and online. We may instead list a funeral home’s website or a family email address as a contact. If you have any questions about this topic, please contact us.
Obituary process:
Once your submission is complete, we will fax or email you a proof for review before publication in the newspaper. This proof will include the price and the days the advert should appear.
Please check the evidence carefully. Errors or changes must be reported to us before the notice appears in the Pioneer Press, in accordance with the applicable daily deadlines.
After publication, we assume no responsibility for errors that may appear after final review.
On-line:
All obituaries appear on TwinCities.com with a permanent online guestbook presence. If you would like to have the online presence removed, you can contact us to remove the guestbook online. Changes to an online obituary can be made through the obituary desk. Call us with any further questions.
Payment method:
All obituaries require payment in advance prior to publication by the date shown in our schedule below. Please call 651-228-5263 with your payment information after you have received the proof and approved its contents.
Credit card: Due to PCI (Payment Card Industry) regulations, payment is only accepted by telephone.
Bank transfer: Check by phone. Please provide your bank code and account number.
Checkout: Accepted by our FRONT COUNTER Monday – Friday from 8:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m.
Prices:
- The minimum fee is $162 for the first 10 lines.
- Each line after the first 10 costs $12.20.
- If the ad has less than 10 lines, the minimum price of $162 will be charged.
- On a second execution date, the queue costs $8.20 per queue, starting with the first queue.
- For example, if the first run date is 20 rows, the cost is $164.
- Each photo published will cost $125 per day.
- Example: For 2 photos in the newspaper on 2 days, 4 photo fees of $500 will be charged.
