WINNER’s Lee Seung Hoon is criticized by baseball fans for his 18-second dance routine on the pitching mound
WINNER’s Lee Seung Hoon faces criticism from baseball fans after throwing the first pitch to the Lotte Giants Comparisons Hanhwa Eagle Game on August 28th KST.
On this day, Lee Seung Hoon threw the ceremonial first pitch to cheer on the home team, the Lotte Giants. But before throwing the ball, the singer danced to the chorus of his solo debut song “My type“, for about 18 seconds on the pitcher’s mound.
In retrospect, some baseball fans complained about Lee Seung Hoon’s “unnecessary performance,” calling it a “nuisance.” Some even claimed that Lee Seung Hoon’s footsteps “stirred up the dirt around the mound so much” that the pitcher had to tamp it down again before the game began.
Many commented: “What is he doing…”, “Yeah, that’s a bit much”, “That’s humiliating”, “That’s not funny, that’s not cool, just annoying”, “He messed up the mound, so the pitcher had to fix it”, “If he knew anything about baseball, he’d know that you don’t stomp and slide around on a pitching mound…”, “Looks like the catcher got annoyed towards the end”and more.
Lee Seung Hoon himself shared footage of his first pitch on his Instagram, which you can find below.
