SHERMAN- Three-year-old twin girls tragically drowned in an apartment complex swimming pool on Wednesday, authorities said.

Just before noon, police responded to a 911 call from the 1800 block of West Washington. The caller reported finding two unconscious children in the pool at Ridgeview Apartments.

A maintenance worker discovered them and performed CPR, police said. The twins were taken to a local hospital, where they were pronounced dead.

Criminal investigations are ongoing.
