An Idaho Army National Guard officer was forcibly removed from his command after more than 20 years of loyal service and pressured to resign from his current position because a gay soldier felt hurt by the officer’s posts on his personal social media pages.

Liberty Counsel told American Family News that the law firm notified Idaho Governor Brad Little that the state’s Army National Guard violated an infantry officer’s protected free speech rights regarding public statements he made outside the military setting.

Liberty Counsel has redacted the officer’s name to protect him and his family from LGBTQ+ activists who have a history of harassing and threatening those who speak out against their sinful lifestyle.

In 2023, according to Liberty Counsel, a gay soldier filed a formal discrimination complaint against the officer who shared his religious and political beliefs, particularly regarding gender ideology and the sexualization of children. on his private social platform.
