Iron Maiden’s Steve Harris says there is “nothing in the works” regarding new music
It has been about three years since the legendary heavy metal band Iron Maiden released their last album Senjutsuso fans are probably wondering what’s next. Bruce Dickinson has been playing with his solo band’s latest release and promoting it like crazy The Mandrake ProjectBassist Steve Harris worked on his side project British Lion while the rest of the band was on the road doing their own stuff.
In an interview with Australia’s Alwaysblack Podcast (transcribed by Chatterbox), Harris let her fans down gently by telling them that it would be a while before the world saw more of Maiden.
“There is nothing planned at the moment. But that doesn’t mean there won’t be anything.”
“Bruce (Dickinson, singer of Iron Maiden) just finished his solo tour. So he’s spent quite a bit of time on that. So, I don’t know. Yeah. I mean, maybe we’ll find time to squeeze (a new album) in somewhere. You never know.”
So it’s not a “never” but more of a ¯\_(ツ)_/¯. As for his plans for the near future, Harris revealed that he will be touring with Iron Maiden and British Lion for the rest of the year.
“I’m on tour for the next four months (with Iron Maiden and my side project British Lion) until Christmas, so I’m not sure what we’re doing after that. I guess we’ll probably take a little break with Iron Maiden. I’ve got no plans at the moment for anything with British Lion early next year. But if something comes along, I’d find it hard to say no. So, we’ll see.”
So there you have it. You just have to wait patiently for new Maiden songs. It’s just going to be a long wait.
