Oodles Energy opens its first fast-charging station for electric vehicles in Houston

Oodles Energy, an electric vehicle fast-charging network operator, has opened its first electric vehicle fast-charging station in Houston, Texas. Located inside the Four Points by Sheraton Houston Intercontinental Airport at 1450 North Sam Houston Pkwy East, Oodles Energy’s new location consists of two 240 kW DC fast-charging stations with four ports that allow simultaneous charging. The stations feature both NACS and CCS ports and can charge almost any electric vehicle.

The company has partnered with 10 hotel groups and 34 hotels and multifamily properties in California, Texas, Florida, New York, New Jersey, Ohio, Tennessee, Georgia, Missouri, Oregon and Kansas to install electric vehicle fast-charging stations as an add-on offering. Each site will be operated and maintained by Oodles Energy and will feature DCFCs ranging from 240 to 350 kW. Each site will ultimately have NACS and CCS connections, allowing electric vehicle drivers to achieve 100 miles of range in 10 minutes.

“We are honored to bring Oodles Energy’s DCFC network to the City of Houston to help advance electric vehicle adoption in Texas and across the country,” said Keith Berger, CEO of Oodles Energy. “This installation underscores our commitment to removing barriers to electric vehicle ownership by combining affordability, reliability and ease of use. We are simplifying the process for hotels to provide a valuable amenity to guests and travelers, combating range anxiety and accelerating electric vehicle adoption.”

“Auerbach Funds is pleased to partner with Oodles Energy to install electric vehicle charging stations at our hotel,” said Peter Auerbach, Managing Partner of Auerbach Funds. “Oodles has created a win-win situation for our investors. Oodles adds a highly attractive amenity to our property while generating additional revenue. As more and more guests switch to electric vehicles, this project demonstrates our commitment to those guests while supporting the increasing use of electric vehicles and contributing to a cleaner, more sustainable future.”

Oodles Energy plans to open over 50 charging stations for electric vehicles in 2024. The opening will take place through cooperation with hotel groups that see a strong growth rate in the target group of electric car drivers.
