These garages in Louisville have charging stations
Governor Andy Beshear discusses progress in electric vehicle production in Kentucky
With $11.6 billion in investments since 2020, Kentucky is becoming the center of electric vehicle production, according to Governor Andy Beshear.
In Kentucky, there are 10,750 registered electric vehicles, according to the U.S. Department of Energy’s Alternative Fuels Data Center. When they drive through Louisville, they can use the city’s parking garages to charge.

Here are some parking garages where you can charge your electric car:
According to the Louisville Metro Parking Authority in River City, there are parking spaces in city garages where electric vehicle owners can charge their vehicles while parked. They do not have to pay extra for the charging services, but there is a three-hour limit “for continuous electric vehicle charging.”
First and Main Garage, 100 East Main Street
This parking garage has two spaces with level two chargers on the first floor.
Fifth Street Garage, 630 South Fourth Street
The main entrance to this garage is on Fifth Street. There are two bays with Level 2 chargers on the second floor at the northwest corner.
Sixth and Main Garage, 120 South Sixth Street
This parking garage has two spaces with two Level 2 to 3C chargers.
Eighth and Main Garage, 120 South Eighth Street
According to the Louisville Metro Parking Authority in River City, there are two parking spaces on the second floor “north of the elevators.”
Arena Garage, One Arena Plaza
There are two bays with level two chargers “on L2 near the elevators,” the website says.
Brown Hotel Garage, 658 South Third Street
This garage has two spaces with “Level 2 chargers on the pedestrian bridge,” the website says.
Clay Commons Garage, 324 West Chestnut Street
This garage has two bays with level two chargers on the third floor.
Glassworks Garage, 838 West Market Street
This garage has two bays with level two chargers on the third floor.
Jefferson Center Garage, 115 West Jefferson Street
There are a total of three spaces in this garage. There is a Level 1 charger in the southwest corner of the second floor and there are two Level 2 chargers on the ramp leading to the second floor.
Muhammad Ali Center Garage, 140 North Sixth Street
This garage has only one parking space with a level two charger on the first floor “to the right of the entrance, next to the loading dock,” the website says.
Omni Garage, 419 South Third Street
There are two level two chargers in the marketplace and two level two chargers in the residential area.
LG&E has a fast charger in the Norton Healthcare Sports and Learning Centrelocated at 3029 W Muhammad Ali Boulevard, and public level two electric vehicle charging stations throughout the city.

According to the University of Louisville website, the University of Louisville has six charging stations on the ground floor of the Floyd Street Garage.
Individuals with a University of Louisville parking permit may use it Monday through Friday between 7:30 a.m. and 4:00 p.m. The general public may use the permit during the same time period and on weekends for a parking fee.
