Camp Letts is operated by the YMCA.
A third-party contractor set up the zip line for a private event hosted by an outside organization at Camp Letts, a YMCA spokesperson told WJZ.
“The YMCA of Metropolitan Washington has been notified that a participant at a private event hosted by an outside organization on the property of the YMCA Camp Letts Retreat Center was injured,” the spokesperson said in a statement to WJZ. “It has been reported to the YMCA that a youth guest fell while using a zip line provided by an outside vendor specifically for the event. The Y is praying for the participant’s full recovery.”
