Barcelona has its sights set on 18-year-old Brazilian pearl who could cost 20 million euros
Barcelona always keeps a close eye on the Brazilian football scene to discover and sign the country’s next big star.
The Catalans were interested in signing Endrick despite him ending up at Real Madrid. Last year they signed Vitor Roque but things did not go as planned and the striker left the club today on loan to join Real Betis.
Barcelona also had a lot of interest in Estevao Willian, but decided against a move as his signing was not considered a priority, especially since he plays in a similar position to Lamine Yamal.
But now it seems that another Brazilian gem has caught the attention of Barcelona officials.
Kaua Elias on Barcelona’s radar
According to AS, Barcelona is indeed one of numerous clubs that have their eye on 18-year-old Fluminense striker Kaua Elias.
The 18-year-old striker is currently enjoying his breakthrough season at Fluminense, having scored four goals and provided one assist in 16 appearances in the Brazilian Serie A so far in 2024.
Elias has been on FC Barcelona’s radar for some time, with links to him first emerging shortly after he finished as top scorer at the U17 South American Championship last year.
Now he is said to be still in the sights of the Catalans as well as several other Spanish clubs, including Real Sociedad and Valencia.
Meanwhile, Chelsea are also said to have enquired about the situation of the young centre-forward after his breakthrough.
Kaua Elias could cost 20 million euros
According to the report, Fluminense estimates Elias’ value at around 15 to 20 million euros, but is currently not inclined to sell.
The striker’s contract with the Brazilian team runs until December 31, 2026, but an offer of 20 million euros, including fixed and variable amounts, could persuade them to change positions.
Currently, Barcelona is only monitoring the young striker and no moves have been made. Since the club has other, more important things to attend to, it is unlikely that a move will be made either.
