It is with a heavy heart that we must deliver this news to you today…The Colonial Shooting Academy will be closing its doors for good on Wednesday, September 4, 2024. It has been a pleasure serving both our CSA customers and our home community for the past 12 years. Due to many factors, including market volatility and the past few years of economic instability, the ownership of the CSA has determined this is the best course of action.
We would like to thank all of our wonderful and unforgettable members and customers for this amazing time! Without the staff at our Colonial Shooting Academy we would not have made these last 12 years possible. We thank you very much for your years of commitment to our company. This journey has been fulfilling, fun, empowering and at times quite tough and the final process will likely come with the same feelings.

After over 12 years of fun, the Colonial Shooting Academy, based in Richmond, will close its doors in September. The CSA’s closure is due to market volatility, inflation and other factors, and the process is moving quickly. The CSA’s 60,000 square foot facility will be put up for sale and the contents of the building will be auctioned in mid-October.
“It has been a pleasure serving the community. Our customers and employees have made this endeavor extremely fulfilling and memorable. We know that Colonial Shooting Academy has made a positive contribution to our home state and beyond,” said General Manager Thomas Lacy. “Firearm safety has always been at the core of our business and we know our legacy will live on in this community,” said Peyton Galanti. Colonial Shooting Academy thanks all of its wonderful and unforgettable customers and employees for being part of such a rewarding and fun team over the years.
The Colonial Shooting Academy will be closed to the public effective Wednesday, September 4, 2024. All members and customers are welcome to visit and use the facility before the doors close to the public. Customers with firearms on consignment should go to the shop as soon as possible during normal business hours and pick up their property before the doors close.
Upon completion of the transaction, the company’s inventory and contents will be auctioned online at Cannon’s Auctions in Richmond, VA on October 16, 2024. If you are interested in purchasing this building, please contact Jamie Galanti of Commonwealth Commercial Partners (email protected) for more information.
