The Durand Cup, one of the oldest football tournaments in Asia and the fifth oldest domestic competition in the world, was first held in Shimla in 1888.
It is considered the start of Indian football and clubs from the top three leagues have the chance to take part in the tournament.
The line-up for the Durand Cup semi-finals was confirmed after Mohun Bagan Super Giant emerged victorious on Friday before Bengaluru FC defeated Kerala Blasters FC in the quarter-finals.
On Wednesday, North East United beat Indian Army Football Team 2-0 in the first quarter-final, while Shillong Lajong FC defeated 2023 finalists East Bengal 2-1 in the fourth quarter-final.
When will the semifinals of the 2024 Durand Cup take place?
The semi-finals of the Durand Cup begin on Sunday, August 25th.
The first semi-final will be between NorthEast United FC and Shillong Lajong FC.
The second semi-final will be played on Tuesday (27 August) between Bengaluru FC and Mohun Bagan Super Giants.

Where will the Durand Cup semifinals take place?
The NEUFC vs Shillong Lajong FC match in the Durand Cup will be played at the JLN Stadium in Shillong.
MBSG vs BFC will be played at the legendary Salt Lake Stadium in Kolkata.
Who are the reigning Durand Cup champions?
Mohun Bagan Super Giant are the defending champions. MBSG beat East Bengal 1-0 in last year’s final thanks to a solitary goal from Dimitri Petratos. It was their first Durand Cup title since 2000.
