WHAT: Pigeons Playing Ping Pong, a four-piece band known for their high-energy mix of funk, rock and psychedelic groove, will perform at the Georgia Theatre. The Maryland-based quartet recently released its seventh album, “Day in Time.”

MORNING AWESOMENESS
WHAT: Rest and recharge among the artwork in the galleries of the Georgia Museum of Art. Experienced mindfulness teachers lead guided meditations, gentle movements, and slow-gazing techniques. Chairs are provided, and no previous experience or special clothing is necessary.

NIGHT HIKE
WHAT: Athens-Clarke County Leisure Services is hosting three evening “night hikes” this fall, allowing participants to explore local trails and enjoy the beauty of the forest at sunset. All minors must be accompanied by an adult and are encouraged to bring a water bottle and hiking shoes. Registration for the event can be completed on the ACC Leisure Services website.

KEMPT ANNIVERSARY
WHAT: Kempt, a modern men’s clothing store in Athens, is celebrating its fifth anniversary with all-day discounts, raffles and giveaways, plus live music from DJ Chief Rocka from 11am-3pm and happy hour starting at 3pm.

BREWSIC FEST
WHAT: GoinSolo Events and Terrapin Beer Company will partner with nonprofit organization Athenspets to present Athens Brewsic Fest, an event featuring local vendors, pets available for adoption, live music from numerous bands, and a selection of craft beer.

DANCE PARTY
WHAT: Keep Athens-Clarke County Beautiful presents the Keepin’ it Clean Dirty Dance Party, an evening of dance performances and plenty of time for attendees to dance themselves. The event raises money for the organization’s mission to advocate for a cleaner, more beautiful environment. Attendees can also enter a raffle beforehand and purchase dinner at the event.

Sunday, August 25
MARIO KART TOURNAMENT
WHAT: Prove your skills on the track at Athentic Brewing Company’s Lazy Sunday Mario Kart 8 tournament. Each round, players compete in three races against three other players, and the top two from each round advance to the next round. If you have a preferred setup, you’ll want to bring your own controller. Also, early registration on the brewery’s website is recommended, as the event is limited to 128 participants.

FREE YOGA
WHAT: Join Fuel Hot Yoga for a range of free yoga classes on Saturday and Sunday, including Hot Pilates, Fuel Vinyasa, Yin Yoga and more.
