Thanks to the success of Reels, music has become a big focus on Instagram. The photo-sharing platform is now adding music into every corner of its platform. You could already add music to your Instagram stories, posts, and even notes, but with a new update, you can now showcase your music taste on your Instagram profile.

Yes, you can now add your new favorite track and highlight it on your Instagram profile. This way, your friends and followers can listen to said music right from your profile page and know what artist you’ve been jamming to lately.

Add music to your Instagram profile

If you need help finding this option, here is a quick step-by-step guide on how to add music to your profile on Instagram.

1. On Instagram, tap the Profile icon from the bottom bar.
2. On your profile page, tap Edit profile.
3. Tap here Music.
4. On the next screen, select Choose a song for your profile.
5. Choose your favorite song from the selection list under “For You” or “Browse”. You can also search for songs that you cannot find here by Search music Bar above.
6. Now edit the title duration using the search bar below and then tap the Check mark or Completed.
7. To add this song to your profile, tap the Check mark or Completed top right.
8. You will now return to the Edit Profile screen where you can see the music you just added.

The song will be added to your page and you can click the button Play icon to listen to it. The feature works for both the Android and iPhone versions of the app. The screenshot below shows what your profile will look like. However, it’s missing from the web version, so you won’t see it on your desktop even if someone has added a song to their profile.

This isn’t a completely new feature, as it was available to a limited number of users for months before it was deleted. We can only assume it was still in the testing phase back then. Still, it’s a rip-off of what MySpace had back then. And now it’s publicly available to everyone. If you haven’t gotten the feature yet, update the app immediately.
