Hornets star LaMelo Ball plays golf for the first time – this is the funniest sports video you’ll see today
LaMelo Ball is one of the reasons why he is one of the most entertaining athletes in the NBA.
While Hornets fans eagerly await Ball’s return to the basketball court, they were graced with his first-ever appearance on the golf course. And as for the results? Let’s just say Ball should stick to his day job.
As the offseason progresses, Charlotte’s social media team shared content from a team golf outing where Ball was joined by teammates Tre Mann and Nick Richards, president of basketball operations Jeff Peterson and TV commentator Dell Curry, among others.
When Ball had a microphone on, it was a hilarious moment. Here’s more from Ball’s time on the green.

LaMelo Ball Golf Video
Keeping up with the trends, the text accompanying the video states, “We know a golf course doesn’t like to see us.” Once the video began, it didn’t take long for Ball to let his personality shine through.
“I’ve never been this close to golf,” Ball told Peterson in the opening moments of the video. “Yeah, I don’t even think I should be involved in that kind of game.”

When Ball received the course description, he could hardly believe how far he would hit the ball.
“Man, stop playing,” Ball said. “Please don’t tell me you’re talking about where that little man is.”
Ball’s disbelief was the catalyst for his first shot, which certainly caught the attention of NBA fans on X, the platform formerly known as Twitter.
Not many people may be able to imagine what it’s like to average 23.9 points, 8.0 assists and 5.1 rebounds per game as a 22-year-old, but many understand the humbling feeling of struggling with your golf swing for the first time.
As the video progressed, Ball’s reactions to Mann and Peterson’s respective golf games were almost as entertaining as his own play. The most important thing to take away from the video, however, is the insight into the chemistry that is developing in Charlotte.
Ball may not be one of the NBA’s better golfers, but he has shown signs of being one of the game’s best players. At least he has that going for him.
