Cineverse cooperates with Wurl on FAST Channels
LOS ANGELES—Cineverse Corp. announced a broad partnership with Wurl, LLC to distribute Wurl’s growing portfolio of free, ad-supported streaming TV (FAST) channels and launch new channels.
As part of the partnership, the companies will also work together on streaming and monetization solutions.
This will enable Cineverse to streamline channel launches through seamless integration with Matchpoint, the company’s proprietary distribution platform. It will also improve monetization, providing future opportunities for Cineverse to expand the company’s strategic initiatives around content discovery and personalization.
In announcing the deal, Cineverse also announced that it will migrate the majority of its existing FAST channels to Wurl’s Global FAST Pass. As part of this transition, The Bob Ross Channel, Barney, 9 Story Presents: Garfield and Friends, SCREAMBOX TV, the Real Madrid Channel and others will be fully operated by Wurl.
In the future, the company will also launch additional new channels through Wurl, including several music channels as part of an expanded offering in the genre.
“We are excited to partner with Wurl’s highly skilled and experienced team to expand our FAST channel portfolio,” said Tony Huidor, Chief Operating Officer and Chief Technology Officer of Cineverse. “With this new partnership, we are already benefiting from greater ease of use, significantly lower costs and faster and easier channel launches. In addition, we look forward to benefiting from greater advertising monetization and future personalization and discoverability tools that will open up new growth opportunities for Cineverse.”
Wurl’s Global FAST Pass (GFP) is one of the world’s largest FAST channel networks, reaching over 173 million monthly connected TVs and more than 50 streamers worldwide. GFP simplifies monetization and provides powerful data insights to help content companies optimize and schedule content to increase revenue.
“It’s exciting to partner with companies like Cineverse who are always looking to innovate and deliver better experiences to their viewers,” said Dave Bernath, Vice President, Sales & Partnerships, Americas at Wurl. “We look forward to expanding our partnership and helping Cineverse launch new channels and deliver greater personalization.”
