Tall Ship Adventures expands in Sentosa: Travel Weekly Asia
Singapore-based Tall Ship Adventures, which operates Royal Albatross, Asia’s only luxury tall ship at Resorts World Sentosa, has unveiled an ambitious expansion plan. New offerings include:
Southern Albatross: A 50-seater, double-hulled speedboat that offers tourists a quick 60-minute ride along the Sentosa coast and around the southern islands.
Pavilion by the sea: A 2600 square meter Balinese style venue overlooking the water, designed for corporate and special events for up to 200 guests. The venue offers team building activities, customized catering and barbecues.
Enhanced Royal Albatross experience: During the day, the tall ship Royal Albatross transforms into a harbor bar and restaurant before setting off on its scheduled dine-and-sail programs.
The new offers were announced at an event marking a fourth Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) for a further three years between
Tall Ship Adventures Pte. Ltd. (TSA) and Singapore’s Institute of Technical Education (ITE).
As part of the MoU, worth almost S$250,000, the TSA will award 16 scholarships annually to ITE students who are Higher Nitec in the passenger transport course.
Low Khah Gek, CEO of ITE, said: “Our partnership with Tall Ship Adventures enables our students to build their careers in the tourism sector.
“By bringing classes to the deck of the Royal Albatross, we provide students with the opportunity to learn through hands-on experience, gaining a deeper understanding of industry standards and developing the skills needed to succeed in this dynamic environment.
“Since the first letter of intent in January 2015, the partnership has successfully integrated more than 120 ITE students into the Passenger Services course, giving them valuable practical experience.”
