It is the 70th racing week of the Gold Cup Race of Champions on the Kubota High Limit Racing Tour, where the Crown Jewel with prize money of US$100,070 will be held for the first time at the Silver Dollar Speedway in California.

Nearly 70 drivers and teams have pre-registered for the largest sprint car prize pool in California history, with half the field racing on Thursday and the other half on Friday before, of course, all competitors converge on Saturday.

Kubota High Limit Racing Gold Cup – Race of Champions format

Evenings: Thursday and Friday

• All vehicles qualify in one group: one vehicle, two laps
• Qualification points awarded: 100 for the fastest time, 99 for second place, 98 for third place and one point deducted for each additional position
• Four heats with six cars each (a total of 24 from the qualification)
• Transfer to the top five
• The points for the preliminary rounds start at 100, after which there are two points deducted per position.
• B main round based on cumulative qualification and heat points
• The two fastest cars that do not change will be on the front row of the B main race.
• The top four move from the B-Main to the A-Main and mark the tail
• The fastest eight cars from the heats are lined up in reverse order in the first four rows of the main race.
• The remainder of the A-Main will be determined by the total points from the qualifying round and the heat points of the top five finishers in the heats, minus the fastest eight riders.
• Points for A-main placements supplement the total points for Saturday’s lineups
• A-Main points: 200-197-194 etc. with three points deducted per position
• The B main points start at 128 with a reduction of three points per position

Gold Cup Final: Saturday

• The two best in points from each preliminary round qualify for the sprint
• The next 40 points are up for grabs in four heats, which are ranked by points
• From 45th place in the points classification they compete in non-qualifying races.
• Top eight if one competitor has not qualified… Top four if two competitors have not qualified… all will be relegated to the back of the heats
• If there are two non-qualifiers, the first will be in the first heat, the second in the second heat, etc. … if there is one non-qualifier, the fifth will be in the first heat, the sixth in the second heat, etc.
• The four best placed in the heats up to the A main race
• Winner of the heats sprints
• The D-Main race will be assembled according to positions 12 in the heats and the cars that did not move from the non-qualifying races.
• Top-two transfer and tag tail from C-Main
• The line-up for the C-Main race will be determined according to the final positions 8-11 of the preliminary rounds.
• The top four move up to the back B field
• The B main race will be held according to positions 5-7
• The two highest point totals that are not carried over will start on the front row of the B main race.
• Transfer to the top 4 and tag tail of the A-Main
• Dash is set up with the top 4 in the points draw for positions 1-4 and the heat winners for positions 5-8.
• The A main race behind the Dash Cars will be based on heat finishing positions 2-4.
• The first run of the second run starts ninth, the second run two starts tenth, and so on.

*If there is a tie in the preliminary rounds at night, the qualification phase will decide. If there is a tie in the preliminary rounds in the final on Saturday, the provisional main race will decide.
