The doctor claimed that there is a common misconception about beer in the society. It is believed that drinking beer dissolves stones or plays a better role in cleansing the kidneys. He termed these claims as baseless. The nephrologist said that kidney stones get dissolved when one drinks plenty of water. Beer is harmful to the body.
According to experts, the alcoholic drink, if consumed in large quantities, can harm the body. Beer contains alcohol, which can damage the liver, promote obesity and also affect mental health. It is better not to drink beer.
Do you know how beer is brewed?
The process of making beer is called brewing. It involves four main ingredients: water, barley malt, hops and yeast. The barley grains are soaked in water and then germinated. They are then dried and turned into malt. After that, the malt is ground and mixed with hot water. This helps remove the sugar present in the grains. This whole mixture is then boiled and hops are added. Hops add bitterness and aroma to the beer. Once the mixture is no longer boiling hot, yeast is added, which makes the brew alcoholic by converting the sugar into alcohol.
The beer is not ready to be consumed immediately. It needs to be left for a few days or weeks to soften its flavor. Finally, the beer is bottled in glass bottles or cans and put on the market.
