Compare the achievements of Mahama and Bawumia, Bawumia ‘stands tall’ – JFK | Politics

Justin Frimpong Koduah, the Secretary General of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), has called on former President John Mahama and the National Democratic Congress to compare their track record with that of Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia to ascertain their performance in government.

In an interview with Kwami Sefa Kayi on Peace FMs Speaking on the flagship programme ‘Kokrokoo’ on Tuesday, August 20, Justin Frimpong Koduah commented on the party’s 2024 manifesto, which was launched by its leader during a ceremony at GSTS in Takoradi, Western Region.

He highlighted some key policies that the New Patriotic Party (NPP) under the leadership of Dr. Bawumia would take to improve the lives of Ghanaians if it came to power in the country in 2025.

Dr. Bawumia will tackle many things including tax reforms, business incentives, reform of the licensing system for small-scale mining, a reduction of the mineral export tax to 1% to prevent gold smuggling and a credit scoring system. The NPP Secretary General believes that Vice President Bawumia represents “an outstanding name” in terms of the track record of Vice Presidents in Ghana.

Nevertheless, he acknowledged the current economic situation of Ghanaians and said: “We accept both the good and the bad because we cannot only accept the good and ignore the bad. Dr. Bawumia is part of this government. We will not separate him,” But, he stressed, “If you weigh up the good and bad sides of Mr Mahama and Dr Bawumia, Dr Bawumia is still the best.”

Justin Koduah praised some of Dr. Bawumia’s achievements as Vice President, specifically citing his mobile payment interoperability initiative and other social interventions. He therefore has no doubt that the Vice President is a very competent leader and will make a great President for Ghana.

“Even when we as Vice President talk about digitization and digital address systems today, Bawumia’s name comes up. We can also talk about the medical drone system that delivers medicines across the country and is currently benefiting 2,400 hospitals,” he emphasized.
