Super Round schedule for 2024 WBSC U-15 Baseball World Championship announced – World Baseball Softball Confederation


The World Baseball Softball Confederation (WBSC) today announced the Super Round schedule for the VI WBSC U-15 Baseball World Cup following the completion of the 22-game Opening Round in Barranquilla and Cartagena de Indias, Colombia.

The U-15 Baseball World Cup is entering the next phase of the tournament. Colombia, Japan, Mexico, Nicaragua, Puerto Rico and Chinese Taipei will compete over the next three days, from August 22 to 24, at the Edgar Renteria Stadium.

Japan, Puerto Rico and Colombia advance as first, second and third seeds in Group A.

First-placed Chinese Taipei, second-placed Nicaragua and third-placed Mexico qualified from Group B.

For the Super Round ranking, only results between the teams in the Super Round (including the matches in the opening round) count. Japan therefore goes into the Super Round as the leader (2-0), followed by Mexico, Nicaragua, Puerto Rico and Chinese Taipei (1-1) and Colombia (0-2).

On the first official day of the Super Round, Puerto Rico will face Nicaragua at 10:30 a.m. local time, Chinese Taipei will face Japan at 3:00 p.m. and Colombia will play Mexico at 7:00 p.m.

The top two teams at the end of the super round will compete for the world championship title on Sunday. The bronze medal match starts at 2 p.m., while the World Championship final is scheduled for 7 p.m.

Dominican Republic (2-0), Venezuela (2-0), Italy (1-1), Netherlands (1-1), Guam (0-2) and South Africa (0-2) will compete in the 7th to 12th placement rounds, carrying over their respective head-to-head wins/losses from the opening round. The placement round will take place at the 11 de Noviembre Stadium in Cartagena de Indias.
