Barcelona shortlist Man United surprise star for summer targets
It has been rumoured that La Liga giants Barcelona could initiate a transfer for a leading member of Manchester United’s attacking line-up as part of their ongoing search for flank reinforcements.
This is the opinion of transfer journalist Albert Fernández from Gol, who names Marcus Rashford as the player in question.
It is of course common knowledge by now that the management of FC Barcelona is looking for fresh blood for the left flank with a view to the coming season.
After the search for the coveted player Nico Williams was unsuccessful, the Blaugrana had no choice but to expand their search.
In the last few days alone, players such as Federico Chiesa, Kingsley Coman and Rafael Leão have been mentioned as possible new signings at Camp Nou.
And yet the newest name on Deco and Co.’s watch list came as a surprise.
As the aforementioned Albert Fernández says:
“According to Barcelona sources, Marcus Rashford was one of the names suggested by Hansi Flick as the only player he wanted (a left winger with goal-scoring ability and dribbling talent).”
It is still unclear whether or not contacts have been made with Manchester United, but this could be something to keep an eye on in the remaining weeks of the transfer window…
