“Nowadays, Japanese idols copy the style and sales methods of K-pop, which leads to plagiarism problems. Also, K-pop nowadays is not what it used to be, with its cheesy and tasteless elements; it is now very sophisticated and aesthetically pleasing, so they try even harder to imitate it. The problem is that they cannot match the quality, so they end up achieving nothing. Their dancing and singing skills, visuals, and song quality are significantly worse than those of Korean idols, so Japanese fans prefer to follow Korean idols rather than sticking to the stripped-down Japanese ones. They have lost the unique charm of Japanese idols and cannot match the quality level of Korean idols. I like Japanese idols because I like the melodies of their songs, but looking at the current situation, it is disappointing.”

“Fans of Japanese idols absurdly get angry and say things like, ‘We should be thankful that our big Japanese idols are paying homage to K-pop,’ which is so ridiculous. Ordinary Japanese K-pop fans are the ones who get angry on their behalf. But what do they get out of saying they’re paying homage to K-pop? It’s not like it benefits K-pop groups at all. Tsk tsk.”

“The visual aesthetic of tripleS’ music video is amazing and the way it portrays Japan in such a simple and cheerful way is truly grounding. The song expresses the darkness and reality of teenagers.”

“If the situation had been reversed, anti-Korean sentiment would have exploded.”

“It’s hilarious that they knew Jung Byung-gi’s (Jaden Jeong) aesthetic was good and decided to copy it. They didn’t even copy popular groups like NewJeans or IVE, but instead decided to imitate tripleS. Did they think it would be okay since they aren’t that popular?”
